Rules and Expectations

For this course, each student is expected to do the following:

Abide by our school values, Honesty, Integrity & Respect.

Honesty- Always tell the truth, even if it is hard to do. We can all work together if we know what is going on.

Integrity-Stick to your principles and morals. If you say you are going to do something, follow it through to completion.

Respect- It has to be given to be received. Respect each other and we can tackle anything together. There are never any ‘silly’ questions, and we all respect each other’s journeys to get to where we are today.

  • Aim as high as possible- Riverside Education believe there is potential locked up in every young person, even if it has remained hidden until now. We will work to help each individual unearth this, and help them achieve the best version of themselves.
  • Be willing to learn- there may be times when you don’t feel like learning, but when you put the effort in, you will always be rewarded. Have an open mind and try and be as relaxed as possible.
  • Be on time- students will be expected to be on time to each online session, especially morning tutorial @ 9:30am. Respect your peers be being on time and not making them wait for you to log on.
  • No mobile phones during study or online time- When you are engaging in an online class, or completing your work, be sure to put your phone away somewhere so it does not distract you. The programme Is flexible, so you will have plenty of time to be able to access your phone.
  • Do not use your online learning for wrong- Make sure you use your online platform for what is it designed for, learning! Riverside Education will not tolerate any online bullying, racism, ridicule, or prejudice of any kind. This includes looking after your equipment.
  • If you are struggling, say something-the purpose of this programme is that you never have to worry or struggle alone.
  • Make sure all the work you submit online is YOUR work– although it is tempting, do not simply copy-and-paste your work, as it won’t pay off in the long-run.
  • Use appropriate language- be kind to each other, and don’t use swearing of offensive language. This will be good practise for when you want to move on to your next opportunity.

We are a family, and we support each other and take the time to listen.
