Mental Health Support

“Developing potential in all young people”

Riverside Education – Mental Health First Aiders

At Riverside, looking after our student’s mental health is extremely important and as part of our drive to support all of our student emotional wellbeing, we have a dedicated team of Mental First Aiders.

Our mental health team will support our students to help them to ‘look after’ their mental health. They will work with students to help them to identify, and understand their mental health and work to develop positive strategies to help them to manage challenging situations.

Staff will work with students to:

  • Teach students a range of practical strategies
  • Help students to identity triggers
  • Have ‘positive’ mental health conversations
  • Use strategies to ‘destress’ and sooth

All students will have full access to the mental health first aid team.

At Riverside Education all of our pupils will access an individual social, emotional and academic curriculum. We want all of our students to be engaged and active learners who are self-aware, caring, respectful, connected to others, responsible decision makers, as well as academic achievers. Our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum programme is used to develop and strengthen our pupils’ social and emotional skills both in and out-of-school setting. Our students will access 5 SEL programmes depending on individual needs;
